David Kern's (Daniel Brühl) novel is taking the charts by storm. As it turns out, however, David is not the legitimate author of this tragic love story set in the 50ies but claims to be the author in order to conquer the beautiful Marie (Hannah Herzsprung). Their happiness is soon challenged when someone claims to be the true author of the book.
